1. File History (Offline)
File History is a new feature that is rarely used. History File is a utility default Windows 10 so that we all can perform data backups with ease. File History is actually already available starting from Windows 8.

How to Restore Files with File History
Go to Start and type “restore your files” and press enter. Then, please select the folder you want to restore the data to. If so, just click the big green button and follow the instructions.
2. Backup and Restore (Windows 10 )
The menu is there so that those of you who previously used Windows 10 can restore files easily if you’ve upgraded to Windows 10. However, the Backup and Restore is also still you can use to perform a backup even if now you are using Windows 10.
How to Backup with Backup and Restore (Windows 10)
To open Backup and Restore, go to Start and type “Control Panel” and hit enter. Then click System and Security> Backup and Restore (Windows 10 ). Next, plug in your external hard drive and click the “Set up backup“.
Then, select the external hard drive partition you want to use as the image above. If so, click Next.
Furthermore, there are 2 options offered. The first selection is “Let Windows choose (recommended)” which you can use if you do not want to bother to choose the files or folders you want to backup. But if not all of the folders in the backup or should you check one by one, select the option “Let me choose“.
Then, simply select the folders you want to backup as shown above. Finally, Windows will tell you what Windows will backup. If you have a confirmation, click “Save settings and run backup“.
As shown above, Windows will perform the backup.
How to Restore with “Backup and Restore” (Windows 10)
You can restore the data by opening the Backup and Restore via the Control Panel. Scroll down and click on “Restore my files”.
Then, click “Browse for folders” and locate the folder you want to restore. If so, click “Next“.
Next, there are 2 options that you can choose from. The first option is “In the original location”, the data will be returned at the location at the time you do a backup. The second option is “In the following location“, Windows will restore the data in a location that you set yourself. If so, click “Restore”.
3. OneDrive – Online
Onedrive services is one of the most popular cloud storage. By using onedrive, your data can be received anywhere, anytime, and on any device as long as you have an internet connection. The advantage of OneDrive is that the application is already on every computer with Windows 10.

Once you are done setting one drive, you can begin to copy and paste files or folders and one drive to automatically upload. Once all the data uploaded, you can access them anywhere, such as web browser. Even when your computer suddenly crashes, all you need to do is sign in with a Microsoft account and your data can be back to normal right away.
But you should know that this one drive limited storage capacity. For a free OneDrive account, you can only use 5 GB. If you want more capacity, you can upgrade your one-drive services.
